Support the Global March to Gaza: Toolkit

MARCH.png

Courageous and passionate Individuals from around the world will be arriving in Cairo, Egypt, on June 12th to take a three-day journey across the Sinai through the Rafah border into Gaza. This is a global effort to take direct action towards opening Rafah through negotiations with Egypt's government in collaboration with NGOs, diplomats, and humanitarian institutions.  They need your support to build a global audience as they make this attempt to open up Gaza to aid and inspire more action for Palestine.

If our governments do not act, we must. Join us as we all engage across the planet and put our energies to let the aid flow to Gaza. We are the power, people power!

Share updates on the march from our Instagram, X, and TikTok accounts.

See if there is a local CODEPINK chapter near you, reach out and engage with them.

Script: My name is ____ and I stand in proud solidarity with the thousands of everyday people across the globe who are marching to Gaza from Egypt, including members of the organization I’m a part of, CODEPINK. I echo their call to let aid into Gaza, and I demand that they be allowed to complete this march safely. Not only are the people of Gaza under constant bombardment by Israel, they are dying of starvation due to Israel blocking aid. This genocide and manufactured famine is being enabled by the international community’s inaction — that’s why regular people are forced to do what our government’s have failed to do. I stand with CODEPINK and every individual who is participating in this historic march!

Action Guide: Hold a Vigil for Gaza in Solidarity with the March to Gaza!

  1. Gather a group — find a few people who are interested in helping with the vigil.
  2. Gather materials — you won’t need much. You can put on a vigil with as little as a few candles and photos of Gaza’s martyrs. If you want to include more, consider asking folks to bring to leave at the vigil location (children’s shoes, letters, flowers), a microphone and speaker if you anticipate a large crowd.
  3. Print flyers and photos of Gaza martyrs to bring with you to the event.
  4. Pick a spot — this could be a local park, community center, or any other open, public space.
  5. Prepare your remarks — it’s important to properly honor the people of Gaza at the vigil, choose one or a few people to speak from the heart about the martyrs of Gaza, their struggle against genocide, and how the emotions that evokes in the speaker. Emphasize the need for these emotions to move the crowd to action, and speak about the march to Gaza. You can also read the names and stories of those martyred by Israel.
  6. Set up organize your materials and pass out flyers and candles to the attendees.
  7. Have conversations with people who attend about Gaza, encourage them to share how they feel and what actions they plan to take.
  8. Send photos/videos to post and share — you can email them to me at [email protected]
