On Saturday, February 28th, the United States and Israel bombed Iran’s capital and President Donald Trump announced a U.S. led prolonged war against Iran. The bombings came after stalled negotiations between Iran and the Trump Administration, all the while, members of Trump’s cabinet were blatantly seeking regime change in Tehran. This latest assault will start another long, bloody, and drawn-out war. The world should be outraged. Sign this petition to send to a U.S. embassy near you to say stop the war on Iran!
U.S. Embassies and Staff:Â
We, the undersigned, demand that the U.S. end all hostilities against Iran. On Saturday, February 28th, the United States and Israel bombed Iran’s capital. Shortly after, President Donald Trump announced a planned prolonged war against Iran and stated that American servicemembers would likely be killed in the process. He addressed Iranians, telling them to stay inside because bombs would be dropping all over Iran, and called on them to overthrow their government. The self-proclaimed “peace president” has launched yet another endless war – risking millions of human lives.Â
For weeks leading up to these attacks, President Donald Trump and his administration weaponized the protests taking place in Iran and used them as a pretext for attacking Tehran. The protests in Iran initially centered around the dire economic situation, which has led to a shrinking middle class, food and medicine shortages, and inflation. This crisis has been created in large part by decades ofU.S. sanctions and U.N. snapback sanctions. These facts are conveniently left out by the Trump administration.
The most recent “justification” for attacking Iran is the stalled nuclear talks with the United States. The farce of Iran "almost building out its nuclear programs" has been used by Israel and the US for decades. If this was truly about limiting the scope and use of nuclear weapons, the Trump Administration would be engaging in good-faith diplomacy.Â
Bombing Iran will further destabilize the country, worsen political and economic conditions, and destroy more lives. To improve the lives of ordinary Iranians, the U.S. should lift the sanctions that have starved Iran of food and medical supplies and devalued its currency.Â
Americans can’t afford healthcare. Grocery prices continue to rise. Yet 2026 has opened with the U.S. military attacking and killing people abroad and with ICE attacking and killing people at home. The U.S. should focus on its own economic problems rather than attacking the rest of the world with sanctions and bombs.Â
