CODEPINK To Join Thousands in “Red Line” Protest Outside White House
Wearing red, protesters aim to embody the red line that President Biden has not upheld
WASHINGTON, D.C. – CODEPINK will unite with thousands of demonstrators at the "Red Line" protest outside the White House, marking a significant day of action against the ongoing US-Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people and the 54th anniversary of the occupation of Gaza.
“Although it is clear that the U.S. government operates with no morals, the people within the belly of the beast do. We are mobilizing people across the country to let the Binden administration know that we are watching, and demand that he put an immediate end to supplying a genocide,” explained CODEPINK organizer Krys Cerisier.
Action Details:
- Date: June 8, 2024
- Time: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (CDT)
- Location: The White House
Despite President Biden's assertion a month ago that the invasion of Rafah was a red line, the situation has worsened. The invasion has expanded to the entire Gaza Strip, with no intervention from the administration. Instead of halting military aid to Israel, President Biden has authorized billions more in weapons shipments, exacerbating the violence against Palestinians.
CODEPINK and its allies are stepping up where the administration has failed. On June 8, people all over the country will encircle the White House to show solidarity with Palestine. Wearing red, protesters aim to embody the red line that President Biden has not upheld.
The protest demands are as follows:
- An immediate ceasefire.
- An end to the siege on Gaza.
- The freedom of all Palestinian prisoners.
- An end to the occupation of Palestine.
