On Tuesday, June 22, CODEPINK Congress will feature two guests:
Dr. Assal Rad, senior research fellow with the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), works on research and writing related to Iran policy issues and U.S.-Iran relations.
Alexander Main, Director of International Policy at the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) in D.C.; monitors economic and political developments in Latin America.
Despite President Biden’s decision to distribute “no strings attached” 500,000,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to other countries, the U.S. will block Venezuela and Iran, countries under sanctions, from receiving any doses. Venezuela’s foreign minister, Jorge Arreaza, said the decision demonstrates the U.S. government’s “continued hatred towards the Venezuelan people.”
Join us as we look at life under sanctions, another form of warfare, in Iran and Venezuela, and examine the weaponization of the U.S. State Department.
