Dr. Zhun Xu is an Associate Professor of Economics at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, on leave from Howard University. Previously Dr. Xu has taught at 中国人民大学 (People's University) in Beijing. His main research interests include Political Economy of Development, Chinese Economy, Economic History. He is also on the editorial boards of Science and Society and the Journal of Labor and Society. Dr. Xu's recent book, From Commune to Capitalism: How China’s Peasants Lost Collective Farming and Gained Urban Poverty, was published by Monthly Review Press.
