Now, those who witnessed it firsthand are reporting back.

Katie Halper is a journalist, filmmaker and political commentator, and host of The Katie Halper Show, a widely followed platform covering U.S. foreign policy, media criticism, and grassroots movements. With a combined audience of hundreds of thousands across YouTube and social media, her work challenges dominant narratives and amplifies voices often excluded from mainstream discourse. She was fired for calling Israel an apartheid state and is currently making a documentary about Holocaust survivors protesting the Gaza genocide
Rev. Dr. Stephany Rose is an organizer, writer, faith leader and lead spokesperson with the Movement for Freedom, where she works at the intersection of anti-imperialist advocacy and grassroots mobilization. Her work focuses on confronting U.S. authoritarianism and advancing global solidarity movements while institutionalizing humanity. Whether in the classroom, on the streets in the community, or engaging in democracy, her tireless work focuses on advancing equity for the most impacted and vulnerable communities while advocating for critical issues such as healthcare for all, education equity, affordable and sustainable housing, economic empowerment, and peace and safety for all.
Renée, MD, is a surgical breast oncologist. Her career has taken her across the country to establish breast centers and grow community practices. She is dedicated to teaching her patients and her community about lifestyle habits and breast health. Her first trip to Cuba was in January last year with CodePink, and she has been dedicated to supporting the island ever since. She is the director of Not Just Tourists - Philadelphia. Most of her work for Cuba is through her organization, Philadelphia for Cuba.
Danny Valdes is a Cuban American organizer with Cuban Americans for Cuba and DSA, leading national advocacy efforts to end the U.S. blockade and build solidarity.
