Join us for a conversation between our own Ariel Gold and James Zogby of the Arab American Institute.
James Zogby is the founder and president of the Arab American Institute (AAI), a DC-based organization that serves as a political and policy research arm of the Arab-American community. As an author and scholar on Middle East issues and the Arab-American community, Zogby has testified before Congressional Committees, participated in Executive branch forums, and addressed the United Nations. In 2013, he was appointed to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom by then-President Barak Obama. From 2001 to 2017 Zogby was a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee. He worked on the 2016 DNC platform attempting to get the platform to address the struggle for Palestinian rights.
Zogby is the author of several books, including What Ethnic Americans Really Think and What Arabs Think: Values, Beliefs and Concerns.
Zogby will discuss with Ariel Gold what it was like to work on the DNC platform in 2016, what was or was not accomplished then, and what he thinks about the current draft of the DNC's 2020 platform.
