It is no secret that companies have been profiting off of Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza and the West Bank. One of those companies that often gets overlooked is Airbnb. In a report by Francesa Albanese of the UN, Airbnb is identified as listing 350 properties in illegal Israeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land in 2025. That sounds bad enough, but the impact is so much greater than you might think. When Airbnb accepts these listings, it incentivizes Israel to expedite the process of annexing Palestinian land, legitimizing settlements, and absorbing them into Israeli territory.
Sign our petition to let Airbnb know that perpetuating Israel’s violations of international law is reprehensible. Airbnb has previously taken down listings on illegal settlements in 2018 and we can pressure them to do it again!
Then take more action! Send a letter to the executives of Airbnb to demand that they pull out all their listings on illegal settlements on stolen Palestinian land!
We, the undersigned individuals against occupation, demand Airbnb remove listings in illegal Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine. In 2018, Airbnb pledged to remove over 200 listings on illegal settlements on stolen Palestinian land. Soon after, this decision was reversed because you succumbed to the pressure of lawsuits by the settlers who owned the listings. As we have seen the state of Israel commit heinous atrocities in Palestine the past year and a half, all of which have been recognized time and time again by international human rights organizations and the United Nations, it is Airbnb’s duty to not fall complicit in these crimes.
We call on you, Airbnb, to exercise your power as the largest vacation rental company in the world and abide by international law. A recent report by Francesa Albanese of the UN identified 350 properties on Airbnb’s website that are situated on stolen Palestinian land. When Airbnb accepts these listings, Israel is then incentivized further to provide electricity, water, proper roads, and “security” to these settlements. That means stealing more resources from Palestinians and instructing the Israeli occupation forces to use lethal measures against Palestinians who attempt to take their land back. All of these factors expedite the process of annexing Palestinian land, legitimizing settlements, and absorbing them into Israeli territory. Is Airbnb okay with profiting off of occupation and land theft? In your core mission, you state that Airbnb is meant to "create a world where anyone can belong anywhere". By bolstering Israel’s occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, you are not creating a world in which Palestinians belong. In fact, you are quite literally contributing to their erasure as a population with an indigenous land.
If you want to uphold your company’s mission and do right by millions of people globally, who have been actively boycotting your site, you would concede to the demands of taking all listings on illegal settlements off your website. Not only would this ensure Airbnb is complying with international law, it would allow Palestinians a higher quality of life where their homes are not being demolished for profit.
