Women of the Senate: Where is your outrage?

ASK_THE_WOMEN_OF_THE_SENATE.png

Of the 26 women in the U.S. Senate, only three — Elizabeth Warren, Tina Smith, and Mazie K. Hirono — voted to block weapons to Israel. All but five of these Senators are mothers. So we ask: where is your outrage?

Since March 2, Israel has blocked all food, fuel, aid, and commercial goods from entering Gaza. Israel has murdered AT LEAST 17,400 children in Gaza since the genocide began. Mothers are being forced to bury their babies in pieces — if they can find them at all. So why are our Senators silent while babies are being murdered? What would they do if it were their children?

According to an April 2025 Data for Progress–Zeteo poll, 71% of Democrats want the U.S. to restrict military aid to Israel — but 16 of these women senators are Democrats, and most are voting to keep the weapons flowing.

Sign the petition. Tell the women of the Senate: You can't celebrate motherhood while funding the murder and starvation of mothers and babies in Gaza!

Israel has blocked any and all food, fuel, and aid from entering since March 2. Gazans are dying RIGHT NOW because Israel is deliberately starving them. The situation is so dire that a group of people sailed the Gaza Freedom Flotilla to break the siege on Gaza themselves. Israel attacked the Gaza Freedom Flotilla's boat "The Conscience" last weekend as it sailed off the coast of Malta, damaging the ship and halting its humanitarian mission to break the siege on Gaza. Thankfully, those aboard escaped harm. Despite this attack on a civilian ship, not a single member of Congress has spoken up to condemn Israel.

As Israel starves, bombs, and massacres the people of Gaza, we are left wondering: where is your outrage?

Since March 2, Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza (again) — blocking all food, fuel, aid, and commercial goods from entering. Israel has murdered AT LEAST 17,400 children, and now thousands more are dying from starvation and treatable wounds. Israel is using hunger as a weapon of war, and the U.S. is supplying the arms and the funds to keep this genocide going.

You — our elected leaders — are not just silent. You are actively allowing this to continue.

Of the 26 women in the U.S. Senate, only three — Senators Elizabeth Warren, Tina Smith, and Mazie K. Hirono — voted to block weapons sales to Israel. This vote took place on April 3, 2025, over a month since the total blockade began.

All but five of you are mothers. You post photos of your children. You speak about the strength and sacrifice of motherhood. You celebrate motherhood while massacring women and their babies in Gaza.

So we, the undersigned individuals who care about mothers and their babies, ask you: What would you do if it were your child being starved in Gaza? Bombed? Buried in rubble never to be found or given a proper grave? We're certain you'd do everything you could to save them.

The people of Gaza are enduring the unimaginable. Mothers are undergoing C-sections without anesthesia, collecting rotten flour to make bread for their kids, their babies are buried under the rubble, their fetuses are forcibly aborted from their bodies by the force of Israel’s bombs. Did you know Israel kills an average of 30 children in Gaza every day, that’s one child every 45 minutes? In fact, so many children have been killed by Israel, with such disregard for their lives, that at least 2,000 of those CHILDREN murdered have not even been identified. Over 800 babies were murdered in Gaza before their first birthday. Nearly 900 one-year-old babies have been murdered — before their parents could watch them take their first steps. Do you understand how devastating that is?

And yet, you continue to vote to send bombs. You do nothing to hold Israel accountable to end the blockade staving Gaza to death.

Sixteen of you are Democrats. According to a Data for Progress–Zeteo poll from April 2025, 71% of Democratic voters believe the U.S. should restrict military aid to Israel until it stops attacking civilians, supports Palestinian rights, and commits to a long-term peace process. Your own constituents are demanding you act. Why aren’t you listening?

We are calling on you now — not just as politicians, but as women, as mothers, as people with power and a responsibility to use it. Stop weapons transfers to Israel and demand an end to the blockade and the genocide in Gaza.

You have to do something or more mothers and their babies will be killed. If it were your children you would do everything you can to stop it.
