Oakland Women's Strike 2017

In 46 countries across the world women are striking on March 8th for a better world. In solidarity with the international women's strike, we are issuing a call for women in Oakland to organize ourselves against deportations, workplace harassment, out of control rent, broken healthcare, unlivable wages, discrimination, and police violence.

March 8th will be the beginning of a new international feminist movement that organizes resistance not just against Trump and his misogynist policies, but also against the conditions that produced Trump, namely the decades long economic inequality, racial and sexual violence, and imperial wars abroad.

>Rally, speakers, and art making at OGP from 5-6pm. We will then march at 6pm.

>Organize your friends or coworkers to march together. Make signs and banners that say who you are and what you're fighting for.

>Wear red and pink!

>Bring pots and pans to make noise!

An ASL interpreter will be provided, our planned march route is wheelchair accessible, and will move slowly. For the duration of the rally at Oscar Grant Plaza (wheelchair accessible), we will have food, water, and there will be kid engaging art making activities. National Lawyers Guild and street medics have been contacted.

The rally will have kid space provided by Abundant Beginnings: When the march leaves, it is up to parents discretion if they would like to join. We are unable to provide childcare during the march. Please be advised this is a night time march.

Can we count you in?
