Manufacturing Enemies: The US Government's Targeting of Asian Americans
The "New Red Scare" is a deeply harmful and unjust campaign driven by fear and xenophobia, targeting Chinese Americans and other Asian Americans under the guise of national security. Programs like the "China Initiative" claimed to fight espionage but instead relied on racial profiling, ruining lives and careers without solid evidence. This wave of suspicion echoes the darkest chapters of U.S. history, like Japanese American internment, and reflects a dangerous willingness to sacrifice civil rights for political theater. It's a shameful resurgence of racism that has no place in a just and democratic society.
