To The State Department:
Israel has blockaded Gaza for 10 years. Nothing goes in or out of Gaza without Israel's approval and now Israel has cut by 40% Gaza's electricity that was already down to a life-threatening four hours a day. Reducing electricity even further will cripple Gaza’s wastewater treatment facilities, prevent operation of machines that hospitals in Gaza use to care for infants and patients with chronic illnesses and make refrigeration of food in the homes of 2 million inhabitants of Gaza impossible.
Rather than giving Israel funds to continue the siege and carry out another military assault on Gaza, the US should offer much-needed funds for Gaza's electricity and demand Israel end the siege.
