In the Akan tradition of Ghana, the symbol of Sankofa reminds us to “go back and get it”—to honor the past in order to move wisely into the future. In the wake of September 11, 2001, a group of faithful and committed individuals came together, believing that religious communities must raise a united voice—and declare that war and violence should never receive the blessing of faith. As Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace marks 25 years of working toward a more compassionate and just world!Â
We invite you to join us on Sunday, September 27th, from 2-4 PM at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena for the ICUJP 2026 Rev. George C. Regas Courageous Peacemaker Awards as we turn our hearts to those who have been with us from the very beginning. Together, we’ll remember where we began and renew our commitment to the work still ahead.
