The United States is once again edging toward war in Latin America, and Admiral Alvin Holsey may be one of the few people who can stop it. As the former head of U.S. Southern Command, he witnessed firsthand the accelerating militarization of the Caribbean: troops deployed to Puerto Rico, warships operating off Venezuela’s coast, a de facto naval blockade, and reports of expanded CIA authorizations for covert land operations.
Now that Admiral Holsey has stepped down, this is a critical moment. Free from command constraints, he can choose to speak honestly about what he saw and refuse to remain silent as another war is set in motion. Sign this petition urging Admiral Holsey to use his conscience, tell the truth, and help prevent another devastating war in our hemisphere.
Admiral Holsey,
The United States is on the brink of dragging our hemisphere into another senseless war. Troops are being sent to Puerto Rico. Warships and F-35s patrol the Caribbean. Boats are being blown up off the coast of Venezuela and Colombia, without evidence, without legality, and without accountability. And now, the CIA has reportedly been authorized to carry out land attacks inside Latin America.
You know where this path leads. During your time as Commander of U.S. Southern Command, you witnessed firsthand how these actions have nothing to do with “fentanyl” or “terrorism.” You know they are part of a broader campaign to prepare the ground for war in Venezuela a war that would cost innocent lives, deepen anti-U.S. resentment, and betray every principle of democracy and peace our nation claims to defend. Our hemisphere has lived this before. From the Bay of Pigs to Iran-Contra, covert wars justified by lies have left death, instability, and lasting trauma across Latin America.
Admiral Holsey, you took an oath not to any president, but to the Constitution and to the people. This is your moment to speak out. Free from command constraints, you can choose courage over silence. Expose the lies. Tell the truth. Refuse to be complicit in another disastrous war.
The people of the Americas, and the world, do not want more bloodshed. We need diplomacy, cooperation, and respect for sovereignty. You have the opportunity to help stop a catastrophe before it begins, not through force, but through integrity. History will remember whether you walked away quietly or chose to stand for what was right.
Please, be on the right side of history.
