From Vegas to Yemen, Stop the War Machine

From the tragic attack in Vegas, to the tragic war on Yemen — the war machine continues to fuel violence both at home and across the globe. It is time to confront this culture of war by taking on the companies whose profits depend on it. For this, CODEPINK and over 60 partner organizations are launching a new Divest from the War Machine campaign targeting companies like Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Northrop Grumman that make a killing from killing!

Join us at the Divest from the War Machine on October 21 & 22 at the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law, 4340 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008. Reserve your spot now.

Help us examine the current state of the war machine (surprise — it’s thriving!), shine a critical light on the weapons producers that profit from deadly hyper-militarism both at home and abroad, and learn how to get your city, university, bank, church or pension fund to divest.

We’ll be hearing from some incredible speakers. You definitely don’t want to miss this chance to hear from Vijay Prashad!

Vijay.pngVijay Prashad is a world-renowned journalist, historian, and professor whose books, essays and lectures have inspired millions. A prolific writer, his 20 books include The Death of the Nation and the Future of the Arab Revolution, The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World, and Poorer Nations: A Possible History of the Global South. Known as a modern-day Franz Fanon, he is a frequent contributor to The Real News, Democracy Now, Counterpunch, and Alternet. Vijay has a sweeping worldview of both history and the present-day conflicts, which he weaves together brilliantly — and with wry humor.

This low-price event is a sliding scale of only $15 to $100 and is free for students! Read more about our campaign, the Summit, and our speakers!

As our country mourns the latest display of violence wrought by the war machine, the time has come for us to confront the companies that profit from this violent system!

Dedicated to divesting from war,
Ann, Ariel, Brienne, Haley, Jodie, Katie, Mariana, Mark, Mary, Medea, Nancy, Paki, Paula, Taylor and Tighe
