Take Cuba off the Terrorist List
A crucial policy of the Trump administration remains, and that is Cuba’s presence on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list. It is critical to Cuba’s ability to pursue economic, trade and humanitarian activities that it be removed immediately from the list - a power well within Biden’s authority. Join our international campaign calling for Cuba to be removed from the list.

The designation of Cuba as a State Sponsor of Terror has hindered its ability to combat the pandemic and reboot its economy. Biden could help alleviate the country’s financial and commercial restrictions with a stroke of a pen.
By being on this list, Cuba is subjected to a series of sanctions and international financial restrictions that limit the nation’s ability to carry out critical financial transactions, including those needed to advance its efforts to combat the pandemic and reboot its economy.
Cuba was removed from the list during the Obama-Biden administration but was added again by the Trump administration, citing that Cuba was purportedly providing a haven for Colombian insurgents, but these insurgents were in Cuba because of the island’s role in facilitating the historic Peace Accords.
Cuba is on the State Sponsor of Terrorism list for refusing to violate peace negotiation protocols by denying Colombia’s request for the extradition of National Liberation Army leaders who were stranded in Havana. During his campaign, Biden promised he would review the Sponsor of Terrorism designation. Tell Biden to fulfill his campaign promise by removing Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list!
Cuba’s designation of Cuba as a sponsor of terror is cynical and hypocritical. Unlike the US, Cuba does not export weapons. Instead, it has a long history of providing healthcare and saving lives around the world, sending more than 600,000 Cuban health workers all around the world to provide medical services.
If Biden’s administration cared about the well-being of the Cuban people, he would take Cuba off the State Sponsor of Terrorism list!
