It’s week two of our winter wear clothing drive and we collected over 100 items from the community to be donated to our neighbors in need. As the temperatures continue to drop in D.C., the least we can do is donate items of warmth to those who need it.
Instead of investing trillions in the Pentagon budget that makes war profiteers richer and funds programs that don’t work (like the f-35 $1.7 trillion dollar program failure), we should be investing in social services like affordable housing, green jobs, healthcare, education, climate justice, and reparations.
Growing local peace economies is a revolution of values and practices and in 2022 we will be working to support more local groups who focus on community. The Palm Collective is one of the local Black liberation groups DC groups who organize locally with global connections.
