CODEPINK Congressional Advocate Arrested for Disrupting Samantha Power
“Stop talking about it like it is a humanitarian crisis and she needs to start talking about it for what it is. Our country is committing genocide.”
WASHINGTON – Today, Helen, a peace activist with CODEPINK’s congressional advocacy group, stood up and disrupted "Genocide expert" and USAID head Samantha Power as she testified to Congress. While Power has praised officials who resigned in protest of genocide in the past, she refuses to do so in the face of the Biden's support for the genocide in Gaza.
“Stop talking about it as a humanitarian crisis and start talking about it for what it is.” declared Hellen. “Our country is committing genocide and as long as the people in charge continue to ignore the fact that this is a genocide, the American people will continue to act like lemmings and follow them and we'll continue to be responsible for the killing, the slaughter of all the people in Gaza,” she continued.
Helen was arrested while those who supply weapons that are killing innocent men, women and children and supporting the country that is actively starving them walk free.
Senator Elizabeth Warren recently admitted that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide. We all know years from now the world will collectively agree while those in power like Samantha Power will not be accountable. That is why we will continue to be in the halls of Congress and congressional hearings everyday.
