Chevron gas fuels nearly 50% of Israel’s electricity grid, which includes Israeli military bases, prisons, and settlements. Chevron’s gas fields in the Mediterranean Sea play a key role in keeping Israel’s genocide machine running.
It operates and partially owns the largest active Israeli gas fields, Tamar and Leviathan, and the smaller and undeveloped Dalit field, all of which are located in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.. The gas from Tamar is processed in a rig that is located off the coast of Isdud, Palestine. According to the American Friends Service Committee, Israel tightened its blockade to enable Chevron’s operations off the coast of Gaza.
Chevron’s Tamar processing rig, as well as its pipelines, are located about 13.5 nautical miles offshore near al-Majdal Asqalan/Ashkelon, just outside the territorial waters of Gaza. The Israeli Navy secured this rig—and the nearby EMG pipeline—by restricting all Palestinian maritime activities in the area. Since 2009, this has tightened Israel’s naval blockade on the Gaza Strip to 3–6 nautical miles, with devastating impacts on Gaza’s economy and fishing industry.
In 2023, Chevron made an estimated $1.5 billion in revenue from Tamar and Leviathan gas sales alone, mostly from exports to Egypt and Jordan.

Chevron CEO Mike Wirth,
We, the undersigned individuals against genocide, demand that Chevron divest from its projects in Israel and immediately end its support for Israel’s regime of genocide and apartheid against Indigenous Palestinians. We are part of the growing global boycott of Chevron, led by the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, demanding that your company no longer conduct business that gravely violates Palestinian human rights and benefits Israel’s genocidal regime.
Israel’s genocide machine couldn’t run without power from Chevron. As Israel bombs hospitals, homes, universities, and UN schools in Gaza, Chevron supplies light and energy via the operation and co-ownership of two major Israeli-claimed fossil gas fields in the Mediterranean. Beyond generating power, Chevron’s extraction activities are funneling millions of dollars in tax revenues to Israeli government coffers, directly fueling Israel’s system of settler colonialism and violence against all Palestinians. In 2022, those revenues amounted to over $462 million.
We condemn Chevron’s role in fueling Israel’s apartheid and the ongoing genocide in Palestine. We pledge to boycott Chevron until you end your complicity in these human rights abuses in Palestine. We demand that Chevron immediately cut its contracts with genocidal Israel, and end its role in climate devastation globally.
