BLOCK THE BOMBS: 33 arrested in Palestinian-led, anti-zionist shutdown of WoodWard weapons manufacturer, in Niles, IL. for their complicity in Gaza genocide.
NILES, IL - 33 arrested in shutdown where over 100 Pro-Palestine, Anti-Zionist protesters blocked all entrances of Woodward weapons manufacturing company outside Chicago, successfully stopping employees from going into the facility. This facility is specifically responsible for providing the Control Actuation Systems (CAS) for Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munitions - the bombs that are being dropped on Gaza over the past 4 months.
The protesters demand for Woodward to end their complicity in this genocide through the immediate termination of their weapons sales to the Israeli military, and to end their contracts with Boeing. Numerous hospitals, UN schools, churches, and mosques have been decimated, which have contributed to this devastating death toll. These measures have completely collapsed the healthcare system in Gaza.
One protester explained that the measures they took at WoodWard were necessary when, “the UN estimates over 100,000 people in Gaza have been murdered, injured, or are missing under the rubble due to Israel’s bombardment. When the US government fails to take action for what’s right, the people must step in.”
It is clear to see that this ongoing genocide waged on Palestinians in Gaza is highly profitable and is the source of major push-back and protest in the US. Over 80% of democrats in the U.S. support a ceasefire in Gaza. We cannot allow the genocide in Gaza to continue and be supported in Illinois.
The protesters called for Woodward to immediately end their weapons sales to Israel and end their contracts with Boeing.
