CODEPINK Bay Area and NIAC San Francisco to Hold “End the War on Iran" Rallies Outside Senators’ Offices
SAN FRANCISCO – CODEPINK Sonoma County and Bay Area chapters and NIAC San Francisco will host a peace rally on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, outside the San Francisco offices of Senator Adam Schiff and Senator Alex Padilla's. Participants are demanding that the elected officials take action to end the U.S.’s unprovoked war on Iran and to promote diplomatic resolutions.
- 8:30 - 9:30 am at Schiff's office at 1 Post St.
- 9:40-10:30 at Padilla's office at 333 Bush St.
CODEPINK organizers, including Cynthia Papermaster, and NIAC organizer Parsa Zamani Farahani will lead brief statements during the events. "Our Senators must pledge to stop the illegal war on Iran and refuse to fund it!" Papermaster stated. ”This illegal war has put innocent women and children, as well as families like my own, in grave danger. As an Iranian-American, I have a right to see my family live in peace with America and not fear bombs from it!” Zamani Farahani has stated.
The rallies are part of a nationwide movement initiated by the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), Action Corps, and the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) to halt the unauthorized war on Iran. Similar actions are planned at congressional district offices nationwide. The coordinated day of action demands that elected officials:
- Oppose defense spending that does not contribute to ending hostilities with Iran;
- Enforce the War Powers Resolution directing the President to terminate military actions against Iran;
- Investigate alleged war crimes, including attacks on Iranian weddings and the Minab School;
- Support a peace agreement that lifts sanctions and unfreezes assets.
Since the U.S. attacked Iran on February 28, an estimated 9,047 and 18,371 people have been killed in the region and have cost the United States $43.6 billion through September 3 - by the Pentagon's own count. The Minab massacre has killed over a hundred children and further led to the deaths of other innocents, parents, and educators. We stand for an America that funds health and education, not death and destruction.
The action will include: presenting demands to Senators or their staff, bannering, flyers, petition signing, street theater, drumming, singing, colorful sidewalk chalking,
