The Peace Collective was created and started by the twenty-somethings at CODEPINK for the young folks (up to age 29) that want to become a part of the peace movement, raise hell, and just do some cool sh*t because we give a sh*t. The collective is an evolving environment for young activists to learn how to organize together, get connected to or start their own campaign to divest their cities and schools from weapons manufacturers, and gain tools to imagine a world they want to see.
This gathering of the collective will be for members (and newcomers!) who are starting their own divestment campaigns or are just getting involved in an already existing campaign. We will hear from people who have experience with divestment about how to start initial investment research and how to build a team for your campaign. The collective will be joined by folks from UT Austin who started a divestment campaign at their school and by Cody Urban who has been working on city-wide divestment campaigns.
