Syracuse Gaza Solidarity Rally

Join community members and student to show our support for the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom, justice, and equality.

Once again this week, Israel is bombing Gaza, destroying buildings and terrifying already traumatized families. Israel has killed civilians in Gaza, and through it's illegal blockade of Gaza, deprived them of basic human needs such as clean drinking water, medicine, and electricity, and made life totally unbearable. Palestinians in Gaza are desperate for freedom and have been waiting year after year for things to change.

For a year now, Palestinians in Gaza have been creatively and bravely protesting for their freedom by marching. In response, Israel has met unarmed civilians with live sniper-fire, killing around 200 and injuring tens of thousands, including paramedics, journalists, children, and people with disabilities. In total, 45 children have been killed.

March 30th is Palestinian Land Day - when Palestinians across the world remember the unarmed protesters killed by Israel in 1976 during demonstrations about Israel’s theft of Palestinian land. This year, March 30th also marks the 1st anniversary of the start of the Great Return March. These ongoing protests, taking place every single Friday, have seen thousands of Palestinians fighting for their right of return to their villages and homes from which they were forcibly removed.

The Palestinian people refuse to give up their struggle for justice. This rally is an answer their call for international solidarity.
