We’re taking to the streets demanding that the Buncombe County Commission rescind its vote to provide $27 million in tax incentives for Pratt & Whitney! Please join us and a local coalition of activists including Sunrise Movement, Veterans for Peace, and Democractic Socialists of America to a Reject Raytheon demonstration against the Pratt & Whitney plan for Buncombe County.
If this tax money is allotted elsewhere, it would be an investment in local businesses, clean energy, health, and education. We urge that specific expenditures are allocated, as promised, toward reparations to the Asheville African-American community, as well as transparency on this project, and any further development plans for Biltmore Farms LLC, especially related to environmental, health, and social impacts.
