During his recent historic trip to Cuba, President Obama took time to meet with Cuban human rights activists who are fighting for justice in the island nation. The President is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia in April and we’re asking him to meet with Saudi human rights activists as well.
We, the undersigned, call on President Obama to meet with Saudi human rights activists during his upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s human rights abuses are well documented and include the imposition of the death penalty against juvenile protesters and horrifying and disfiguring forms of corporal punishment used against writers and journalists who are critical of the Saudi regime. The brave activists standing up to the government in Saudi Arabia deserve attention and access to the President, just as he granted activists in Cuba.
