Demonstration for Nuclear Disarmament - August 2, 2022 Action for Nuclear Abolition

In 1982, the year of historic anti-nuclear demonstrations, the “Doomsday Clock” stood at four minutes to midnight. Today it stands at 100 seconds to midnight. The dire situation among Russia, Ukraine, and NATO countries, with nuclear saber rattling, prompts us -- a coalition of peace, antinuclear, and environmental groups -- to come together to take action at this historic time while the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference takes place in NYC.

August 2nd is the second day of the month-long Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference at the UN. In order to disrupt “nuclear diplomacy” as usual and dramatize the crisis of nuclear weapons and war, we will march to the U.S. Mission to the UN (First Ave. and 45th St.) for a nonviolent sit-in. The sit-in will be accompanied by vigiling, picketing, and leafleting.

Please RSVP to receive a registration form for this event.
