As we support folks fighting fascism abroad, let’s not forget what’s happening right here at home. The scenes from Portland have been nightmare-ish. Peaceful protesters being gassed, beaten and then kidnapped by unidentified federal agents. Their allegedly violent crime? Graffiti.
Of course this isn’t just limited to Portland, many of us have experienced Trump’s war on peaceful protesters right here at home. This is the administration’s attempt to stifle an uprising that has the potential to transform our society for the better. Join CODEPINK and the Answer Coalition, among others, in the rally to defend the right to protest, to denounce the police state we live in and to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter.
We will meet at 14th St NW, in between Constitution Ave NW and D St NW. Then we will march to the White House.
