During our last Local Peace Economy gathering on January 7th, we looked at the big picture in relation to how we cultivate Local Peace Economies and how it is part of our DNA for 20,000 years to do this. Humanity has, over and over again, pivoted away from the war economies that grow from the inequality created when a few people with power want to keep a population subservient to their needs. Pivoting from oppression has happened throughout history.
Creating and fostering a Local Peace Economy has always been the answer to this moment in history. In the study of collapse of empire, those staying with the old system die and those who use their feet and walk away are the creators of what is next. But how do we walk away? It all starts with the pivot, and that is the responsibility of each of us.
This week we will review the pivots and share our stories of struggle and reward in the process. What can we learn from others to develop the muscles of peace the future so desperately needs right now?
