This month's local peace economy practice is cleaning out our closets. Many people brought clothes and other items to Medea Benjamin's book tour event in Los Angeles two weeks ago. These items were donated to A New Way of Life, an organization that provides housing and support to formerly incarcerated women for successful community re-entry, family reunification and individual healing. Thanks to everyone who came and brought something!
On Thursday we will be collecting clothes to donate to Safe Place for Youth (SPY). Alison Hurst, SPY's Executive Director will be joining us at the gathering.
