SoCal for a Free Assange: Now or Never!

Join CODEPINK San Pedro and LA4Assange for weekly banner drops to bring awareness to journalist Julian Assange, who has been held in a maximum-security prison in Great Britain for five years for publishing information that was damaging to the United States. The US government is prosecuting Julian under the 1917 Espionage Act to criminalize anti-war journalism.

This prosecution of a journalist is a death blow to the First Amendment. These documents won international journalism and peace awards! If Julian is prosecuted, this means ANYTHING we print, post, or say as an individual COULD be prosecuted. Help SAVE free speech! Help STOP this wrongful prosecution! Let's bring aware to this journalist plight!

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will meet at 2:30pm in Carson off Del Amo Blvd. and the 405. Park at Teamsters Union Hall, 450 Carson Plaza Dr. A.

On Fridays, we will meet at 6:30pm in San Pedro at 1st Street and march to the overpass at the entrance to Gaffey Street and display the banner above.

Bring your placards for the traffic traveling by! All are welcome! See you there!
