Jan. 30th: Tell CalSTRS to stop investing in weapon manufacturer General Dynamic
On Wednesday, January 30th at 4:00 pm, we have an opportunity to tell CalSTRS to divest from the war machine. RSVP to speak at the public meeting taking place in West Sacramento.
CalSTRS has invested millions in General Dynamics, a company which has been implicated in war crimes and the loss of countless innocent lives around the world. In one of the most egregious cases, where 54 were killed, 44 children, and more wounded in an airstrike on a school bus with remnants of a General Dynamics guided metal fin found at the scene. As the largest educator-only pension fund in the world, CalSTRS has a responsibility to divest from companies like General Dynamics which shows such brazen disregard for the sanctity of human life- in particular, the attack on the Yemeni school bus on August 9, 2018.
RSVP to speak at the public meeting that is taking place on January 30th at 4:00 pm. The CalSTRS Board Meeting is located at 100 Waterfront Place, West Sacramento, CA. There is metered street parking or CalSTRS has a parking structure. If you park in the structure the lobby entrance is on the P2 level. Once you enter the lobby there will be signs directing you to the boardroom. Bring a backpack to symbolize the Yemeni children who were wrongfully killed while returning from a school trip. Signs will be provided.
