This film screening is a fundraiser for Friends of the Congo as they provide aid to refugees in Goma. We are holding a community awareness screening and discussion on the topic of the use of jazz in the 60s to aid in the coup against and the assassination of the first elected Prime Minister of The Democratic Republic of Congo: Patrice Lumumba.
Doors open at 2pm. The film screening will begin at 3pm.
There are limited sliding scale tickets available at the Eventbrite ticket sale link here. We are offering a donation-based pay what you can scale from $0-25.
Masks required for indoor screening. This space is not yet fully ADA compliant. It is on the 2nd floor and requires a walk up a flight of stairs. A mobile stairlift is available for some individuals.
