Digital Internships

Are you looking to use your creativity for a cause you’re passionate about? Are you always up to date on the news? Do you have a knack for communicating things simply and effectively?

CODEPINK is looking for passionate and internet-savvy interns to help create engaging and inspiring content for our social media! Our goal is to educate, inspire, and activate people around the world to take part in the movement for peace and justice.

As a part of our digital team, you’ll focus on supporting one key area of our digital communications: design, video, or writing & engagement. 


Desired qualifications:

  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Genuine commitment to our mission: ending US wars, occupations, sanctions, and militarization. Find more about our campaigns here.
  • Familiarity with movements against colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy, patriarchy, Zionism, and climate catastrophe.
  • Familiarity with ongoing social media trends.
  • Proficiency in using major social media platforms, CapCut, Canva, Google Suite, and/or Buffer.

Internship Tracks:

  • Design
    • Create graphics to promote events
    • Design informational graphics to educate our audience on current events
    • Support internal communications with design support
  • Video
    • Plan, record, and/or edit videos for Instagram and TikTok, utilizing current trends to promote our messaging and campaigns.
    • Repurpose existing video content into engaging short-form videos
    • Coordinate with local chapters to create videos from their actions
  • Writing & engagement
    • Draft short and engaging posts for Twitter, Threads, Bluesky, and other social media platforms
    • Engage with our supporters via social media
    • Propose and draft educational blog posts to support current campaigns

Location:

Work is remote, but our team operates primarily in Illinois, New York, Washington, DC, and California.

Commitment:

  • 10-15 hours per week, normally between 9am and 5pm Central Time, though support for events and independent work may fall outside of these hours.
  • Full-time may be available during the Summer.

Compensation & Credit:

These positions are unpaid. We strongly encourage applicants to seek credit at their university.

  • (Optional) A short proposal for a long-term project you’d like to complete during your internship.
