It’s completely unacceptable that Cuba still stands on the State Sponsors of Terrorism List! Achieving the removal of Cuba from this list requires a sustained push from activists across the nation. CODEPINK and ACERE are holding a virtual and in-person Advocacy Day on January 24 with the aim of getting Cuba off the SSOT list.
In anticipation of Advocacy Day, we are arranging a teach-in on January 16.
During the teach-in, we intend to discuss the following:
- A concise overview of the SSOT designation and its implications for Cuba
- Effective practices for reaching out to your member of Congress via email, phone or a visit to their office (in Washington D.C. or their district office)
- An outline of the materials put together by ACERE for the Advocacy Day
- SSOT informational one pager
- Sample emails and phone conversation scripts for Congressional offices
- A database of Congressional staff
- Details about the district offices
- Information on the nationwide SSOT Advocacy Day on January 24
