Yemenis face vicious aerial attacks and ground war fighting that further exacerbate hunger, disease and displacement. UN officials have warned that 14 million people, half of the country’s population, are on the verge of famine. Please join a coalition of groups demanding that all the warring parties in Yemen stop all forms of war and immediately open ports and roadways to allow distribution of humanitarian aid.
At 11:00 a.m. on November 6, 7, and 8, at the Isaiah wall also known as Ralph Bunche Park at 1st Ave & 43rd St., activists will set up 40 backpacks to commemorate Yemeni schoolchildren killed on August 9. Each morning, we’ll process to various Missions to the UN and to the Saudi consulate. If you can only join for one day, please consider joining on Thursday morning.
