30-Day Challenge for Palestine: Build Toward Nakba Day

We are committing to 30 days of daily action for Palestine in the lead-up to Nakba Day, May 15, the day Palestinians mark the ongoing catastrophe of dispossession, occupation and exile.  The Nakba didn’t end in 1948, it continues today with Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza, the theft of land, and the silencing of Palestinian voices. We’re calling on you to show up every day for 30 days for Gaza. Why? Because silence is not an option. Because the genocide is happening with U.S. support. Let’s build toward Nakba Day with relentless love and resistance!

Sign up to join us!

How It Works:

  • Commit to spending 30 minutes a day for 30 days doing direct, intentional activism.
  • Start anytime, just keep going for 30 days.
  • Post your actions, reflections, reels, or check-ins using #30DaysForPalestine on social media
  • Tag @codepinkalert so we can track our collective power and uplift each other’s work

This Challenge Is For You If:

  • You know a genocide is happening in Gaza  and refuse to be silent about it
  • You care deeply about the Palestinian people and believe their lives are worth fighting for
  • You feel overwhelmed by the violence but still want to take meaningful action
  • You want to transform your outrage into daily, consistent activism
  • You believe that when we act together, our collective power can confront even the most brutal systems

If you landed on this challenge after it already started, no worries! Just jump in from today and keep going. You can always circle back and complete any missed days at the end. What matters most is that you show up with consistency, courage and care for 30 days and share what you are doing, big or small. Let’s make our collective action visible, impossible to ignore and full of love for Gaza.

Record a short, 30-second video on your phone or computer where you say why you’re joining the 30-Day Action Challenge for Palestine and what supporting Palestine means to you personally. Speak from the heart. Your message doesn’t have to be perfect, just real. At the end of the video, invite 3 friends or followers to take the challenge with you by tagging them. Post the video on Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, or Facebook using the hashtag #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert so your action can be shared and seen as part of the collective movement.

Today’s action is simple but powerful. Help spread the word by sharing 1 post from @codepinkalert on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook and 2 other sources you like. Just find a recent post about Palestine that speaks to you, and use the “share,” “retweet,” or “repost” button to share it on your own page. Add a sentence or two about why you care. Every share helps break the silence. Use #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert to keep the momentum going.

Find a post by a politician or public figure who talks about human rights, justice, or peace but has stayed silent on Gaza or supports more weapons to Israel. Leave a respectful but direct comment asking why they haven’t spoken up for Palestinians. Hold them to their own values. For example: "You speak about justice and human rights, why are you silent on Gaza?” Tag @codepinkalert and use #30DaysForPalestine to help break the silence and demand consistency from those in power.

Print a few posters from CODEPINK’s poster collection and put them up in visible places, around your neighborhood, on campus, at local cafés, libraries, community boards, or right in front of your home. Tape one to your front window, gate, or door to show your solidarity to everyone who walks by. Use painter’s tape or push pins so surfaces stay safe. This simple action makes Palestine visible in everyday spaces. Snap a photo and share it using #30DaysForPalestine, tagging @codepinkalert to help amplify the message.

Pick a company from the BDS list and either send them a direct email or confront them in person or online. Let them know you oppose their role in profiting from Israeli's genocide and apartheid and demand they cut ties. You can also visit a store location, like Trader Joe’s, and ask tough questions, hand out flyers, or record a video. Here’s an example of a simple in-store action Trader Joe’s protest video.

However you choose to act, be respectful, informed, and bold. Share your action using #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert to amplify it.

Write a short, clear letter to your local newspaper calling for an end to U.S. support for Israel’s assault on Gaza and uplifting Palestinian voices. Share why this matters to you and why your community should care. Keep it under 250 words, and use CODEPINK’s Media Guide for tips, talking points, and submission links. Local papers often publish letters like this, your voice can make a real impact. Once you submit your letter, post about it using #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert so we can uplift your action.

On Earth Month, connect the fight for climate justice with the struggle for Palestinian liberation, because war, occupation, and militarism are destroying both people and the planet. The Israeli military assault on Gaza has not only taken lives but devastated farmland, bombed water infrastructure, and polluted the environment. Visit codepink.org/earthday2025 to learn more, sign the open letter calling out the military’s role in the climate crisis, and find or join a local Earth Day protest or action. Post about it using #WarIsNotGreen, #30DaysForPalestine, and tag @codepinkalert to show your solidarity.

Invite friends, family, or your community to watch the powerful film Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone. A documentary that centers Palestinian voices and the brutal reality of life under siege. The BBC removed this film from its platform and we’re not letting it go unnoticed.

After watching, call the BBC to demand they reinstate the film and stop censoring Palestinian stories: [email protected]

You can also choose another film from Watermelon Pictures or from CODEPINK's recommended media list to continue the conversation.

Post a photo or thought using #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert to help grow the movement.

Telling the truth is an act of resistance. Let’s make sure these stories are seen and heard.

Call and email your congressional representatives and demand an immediate end to U.S. military aid to Israel. Use clear, direct language tell them you don’t want your tax dollars funding genocide and apartheid. Then go sign this petition: Tell Congress: Arms Embargo NOW! No More Weapons to Israel!. After you’ve taken action, reach out to 2 friends and ask them to do the same. If you’re outside the U.S., write to U.S. embassies, or pressure your own government to end arms sales and political support for Israel. Share what you did using #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert to keep the momentum going.

Print 10 (or more) flyers from CODEPINK’s organizing hub and distribute them in your neighborhood, local cafés, bookstores, community boards, or anywhere people will see them. You can also hand them out during walks, at markets, or outside local events. Tape them up with painter’s tape (so you don’t damage surfaces) or use push pins on bulletin boards. Each flyer is a chance to start a conversation, spark awareness, and bring Palestine into public view. Take a photo of your flyer in the wild and share it with #30DaysForPalestine, tagging @codepinkalert to show how far the message is spreading.

Choose a local or national news station, TV, radio, or newspaper, and call their newsroom or public editor. Politely but firmly demand more honest, consistent coverage of what’s happening in Gaza. Ask why Palestinian voices and stories are so often ignored or distorted. You can say something like, “I’m a concerned viewer and I’m asking you to report more fully on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and U.S. involvement in it.” Find contact info on the station’s website or Google the station's phone number. After your call, post about it using #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert to encourage others to speak up too.

Today, use your creativity as a tool for resistance. Make something, anything, that expresses your solidarity with Palestine. It could be a drawing, painting, collage, photo, poem, short video, or even a handmade sign. You don’t have to be a professional artist what matters is your heart and message. Once you’ve created your piece, share it online using #30DaysForPalestine and tag @codepinkalert to inspire others and help flood our feeds with love and resistance.

Inspiration Ideas:

  • Draw or paint using Palestinian symbols like the olive tree or keffiyeh.
  • Write a short poem about loss, hope, or freedom.
  • Record a video reading a quote or sharing your thoughts.

"FREE PALESTINE" BY: GERARD DALBON

Take 30 minutes today to read two articles from CODEPINK’s Pink Tank - news section to deepen your understanding of what’s happening in Gaza and the role the U.S. plays. Then, share one or both articles on your social media or in a message to a friend. Add a few words about why it moved you or what you learned. Ideas:

  • Highlight a quote or fact that stood out to you.
  • Pair the article with an image or personal reflection.

Create a banner with a clear message like “Free Palestine” or “Stop U.S. Aid to Israel” and hang it in a safe, visible location like a fence, your porch, a busy intersection, a pedestrian bridge, or outside a government building. Make sure that doesn’t block traffic, cause obstruction or damage. Use string or zip ties. Ask friends or neighbors to help make and hang it. Keep it peaceful, respectful, and safe. Take a photo and post it using #30DaysForPalestine, tagging @codepinkalert to share your message with the world.

For inspiration, check out this powerful banner drop in Michigan by CODEPINK activists.

Best practices:

  • Scout the location in advance.
  • Choose non-permanent, non-damaging materials (string, zip ties).
  • Go with a buddy and be discreet and respectful.
  • If approached by authorities, stay calm, know your rights, and be prepared to remove the banner if asked.

Examples:

  • “Israel receives $3.8 billion/year in U.S. military aid. That’s our tax dollars funding apartheid.”
  • “Over 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. This is genocide.
