“We come together this Earth Day to confront corporations like BlackRock and Bank of New York Mellon who are responsible for investing in imperialism and profiting off of mass death. BlackRock and BNY Mellon are investing in weapon manufacturers that are complicit in committing genocide against Palestinians. Nobody should be able to make millions of dollars off of death and destruction. We are not disposable and we will continue to call out capitalists and imperialists who prioritize profit over people and our lives. We demand these war-profiteering corporations to divest from genocide and imperialism in Palestine, Congo, and Sudan.”

Our role on Friday is helping at the die-in by bringing and distributing chalk for the students to outline the die-in bodies at BNY Mellon; bringing and distributing colored markers to the students for writing messages on gigantic cardboard "candles"; and helping to set up food and distribute lunches at BlackRock, starting at 11 am. In actions with Youth vs. Apocalypse, the adults have support roles and the students are the organizers, speakers, and create the messages for the action.
