How to make peace kites for Palestine!
1. Order your kite kit
-
Find a company that sells diy kite kits. Here are a couple of online options:
- Beginner kite kits
- Kite kits for the classroom
- Ensure the kites are standard-sized, about 24"x24” and diamond-shaped
- White is the best color for tracing the design onto
2. Download designs or create your own messaging
- Ensure that your design remains simple so that it remains visible when flying
3. Trace or paint your designs onto the kites
- Acrylic paint or permanent markers work best for visibility
4. Construct kites using the provided instructions
5. Go fly your kites
- If there isn't wind, you can usually run with them to create some resistance and get them in the air for brief amounts of time
- If flying at/near military bases, it should be fine as long as the kites stay on the public side of any gates/fences
