"Building Our Future" - Chicano Moratorium 54th Anniversary Event

CODEPINK LA is thrilled to be joining a number of other organizations on September 7th at 11 AM to commemorate the 54th Anniversary of the Chicano Moratorium and to continue the historic traditions of standing against War and Racism.

Originally, on August 29, 1970, Chicanx youth from acoss LA took a stand against the Vietnam War, imperialism, racism, and the lack of Chicanx representation. This year, we are reviving the Westside Chicano Moratorium with our demands for Ceasefire, Housing, Ending Displacement and Policing, and Defending Education and Ethnic Studies.

We will gather at 11 AM and begin our march from Veterans Memorial Park. After our march and rally, we will return to the park at where we will gather in community, enjoy some food provided by Jackson Market, and folks will have a chance to hear from other speakers and participate in some of the planned activities which will go from 1 PM to 5 PM.

There is limited parking available at the park and in the neighborhood as well as several garages in walking distance closer to the downtown.

The R12, CC1, CC3, and 33 all bring you to or near the park.

As always, bring signs and wear pink.
