CODEPINK is hiring a Digital Organizing Assistant to support our national organizing team by providing operational, communications, and administrative assistance. This role supports local chapters and their activities, helps facilitate the rollout of national campaigns to local chapters, and strengthens communication between local chapters and national staff. The assistant will work closely with the National Co-Director and National Organizing Manager to support local chapter leaders and members. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and training in long-term grassroots organizing. This position includes a three-month probationary period with monthly performance reviews during the first three months, followed by a six-month review and a subsequent annual performance review.
Job Duties:
80% Regional Organizing Support:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for local chapters by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting needs, and routing requests as appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with local chapter leaders to support organizing efforts and maintain strong communication channels, set up and sometimes attend meetings, (occasionally in the evening, 2-3 hours a week that can be taken as flex time off.)
- Create website event pages for local chapters.
- Produce email and text blasts promoting local chapter events.
- Assist with creating local chapter promotional materials, flyers and graphics.
- Compile local chapter post-event report backs, and upload local action photos to Flickr.
- Coordinate with the National Media Relations Manager to support local press outreach, media needs, and visibility opportunities.
20% National Team Administrative Support:
- Respond to general inquiries via email and phone.
- Attend and take meeting notes.
- Serve as a zoom tech coordinator.
- Support the creation of national-level promotional materials, including graphics and outreach content.
- Serve as backup for staff on vacation by assisting with various eblasts, text blasts, event pages and general website updates.
- General administrative assistance as needed.
Must Have the Following Qualifications:
People & Volunteer Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills suited for grassroots organizing, relationship-building, and community engagement.
- Experience in volunteer or community organizing, including motivating participants, supporting in-person engagement, and navigating challenging interpersonal situations.
- Collaborative team player with strong coordination and project management abilities.
Technical & Communications Skills
- Experience creating content for outreach and engagement, including event promotion materials, email blasts, flyers, and educational or advocacy content.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva or similar tools).

Proficiency with digital organizing and communications tools, including:
- Email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)
- Website/CMS tools (e.g., WordPress, NationBuilder, ActionNetwork)
- Virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom webinars and calls)
- Social media platforms, various group chat platforms etc.
- Experience working with spreadsheets (e.g., Google Sheets), including data entry and basic data management.
- Must have access to a reliable computer and stable internet connection.
