The colors, the music, the depth and breadth of people shutting down streets from the wharf to the Capital building to calling on Congress, whose first official day back, to act on pathways to citizenship, center climate justice, and demand that care be included in the infrastructure bill. With the recent horrific realities being carried out by “border patrol” the US/Mexico border, a significant portion of the march was outside of I.C.E. demanding the Biden administration end all deporations and abolish ICE.
The march ended at the capital where Ilhan Omar spoke who applauded our sign to welcome Haitians.
We ran into our friends from Honor the Earth in solidarity to #StopLine3!
More actions are planned for the week as organizers will also meet with legislators around the policy they have been working for years on passing. Lots of energy and beauty in the streets today. Onward to peace for all of us!
