On Tuesday, November 9th #CutThePentagon members met to reflect on our first 50 days of actions, and plan for the remaining days of 2021. People from all over the country joined us to discuss our main concern - pressuring our Senators to vote NO on the NDAA and approve Build Back Better, so that we may cut the pentagon budget and move money to the people, planet, peace and the future! Cynthia Papermaster and Eleanor Levine of the Bay Area and Leslie Harris of Dallas, TX reported on some of their recent actions, and their plans to join Ban Killer Drones at the end of the month for their days of action.
CODEPINK Co-Director Carley Towne gave a presentation on current resources up on our website and reviewed the momentum we are building as a coalition. We also proposed two actions that we think would be effective for members to host over the holiday season: Congressional Calling Party (in-person or virtual) or a Peace Pot-Luck! To organize a calling party, we have put together this very simple toolkit.
While Congress-members are in their hometowns over the holidays, we are wanting to concentrate these actions between December 6-10th and December 17-22. Let's remind them what they were elected to do, REPRESENT OUR NEEDS!
