The world's militaries are major carbon emitters yet are not even required to report their emissions, let alone reduce them. During this workshop we discussed the size of military carbon emissions, the role of the military sector in protecting the extraction economy, how they seek to capitalize on the climate crisis by offering armed 'solutions', and how we might confront military power and forge lasting just alternatives to war.
CODEPINK's @MsJodieEvans, @nancymancias, & @SuzieGilbertLdn helped lead a workshop about challenging the military carbon footprint at #COP26, where we heard facts & testimonies from @StuartParkinson of @ResponsibleSci, @NnimmoB, @Raki_Ap1, & @nickbuxton. #WarIsNotGreen pic.twitter.com/uwLn59sQ92
