MINNEAPOLIS -- Police searched a CODEPINK van and a CODEPINK supporter without a warrant at 3 a.m. Sunday, when it was parked on the 2000 block of Lyndale Ave.
Kai Ostrander, an ally of CODEPINK who had been sitting inside the van to ensure its safety, said that police told him neighbors had called them with complaints about the van, finding it suspicious. They searched Ostrander and told him he'd be arrested if he did not allow them to search the van. When they found nothing of interest in the van, they told Ostrander to move the car as it was not allowed to park there. Other cars were parked on the street at the time.
The Winnebago van, used to transport members and supplies, is painted bright pink, with painted green plants and lettering reading "War Is Not Green."
