Release Julian Assange

Founded in 2006 by Julian Assange, Wikileaks offers journalist and others an anonymous, secure online submission system to reveal war crimes, the inner workings of governments, human rights abuses, corporate crimes, and much more. It is one of the most important tools for journalists and whistleblowers, Assange has been one of the most important figures protecting the right to freedom of speech and press.

Thanks to Julian Assange:

  • WikiLeaks documents have informed the public about U.S. war crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and more.
  • WikiLeaks documents have released tens of thousands of articles and academic papers.
  • WikiLeaks releases have been used in numerous court cases where human rights defenders have been on trial.
  • Julian Assange’s only “crime” is that of exposing crimes the U.S. government hoped to keep the world from knowing. Rather than being extradited to the U.S to be tried and imprisoned, he must be released immediately by the U.K. and ensured safe passage home to Australia. Add your name to our letter to Prime Minister Theresa May.

Petition

Dear Theresa May,

The fate of free speech and free press protector Julian Assange is in the hands of the United Kingdom. As prime minister, we appeal to you to do everything in your power--make a public statement, use your position and influence--to appeal to the British courts not to extradite Assange to the U.S. and instead release him immediately.

The relentless attacks on Julian Assange, Chelsea Manning and others threaten the future of free press, which is the bulwark of democracy.

  • Rather than being a criminal, Assange is a truth teller, bringing to light war crimes and human rights abuses that must be exposed and abolished.

Assange’s health is in severe decline as a result of his years confined inside the Ecuadorian embassy. He must be given immediate medical treatment and freedom to care for himself and continue his important work.

Sincerely,

    #NoUSExtradition

Julian Assange is an award winning journalist who is persecuted by those in power as they fear he will be able to expose the systems corruption… You must stand with Assange and stand with the people. Truth and Justice must prevail, or it will be the beginning of the end for more than people realise.

Julian Assange is being murdered in Great Britain. He may not live to see his extradition. Immediate action is required if he is to survive. The question is, whatever his crimes, does he deserve the death sentence?

Even if it were possible for Assange to be guilty of the crimes he is accused of, the BRUTAL AND UNCONSCIONABLE abuse of process he has been subjected to undermines my entire faith in the historical progress of western liberalism. Law, justice, and conscience are being serially and systematically, wantonly and casually violated in order to serve the narrow and selfish political objective of making Assange into an example, to any who would challenge the gross power and privilege of the prevailing ruling order. The TORTURE and planned assassination of him as a being of conscience is nothing less than STATE TERRORISM
