In the first weeks of 2026, Iranians have been protesting their dire economic conditions, a situation that is a direct result of U.S. sanctions that have strangled the Iranian economy for years. Trump and his administration officials are now trying to use the economic strife of Iranians to threaten Iran with an invasion and overthrow of their government directly following Trump's attacks on Venezuela and kidnapping of President Maduro.
