Join Medea, Tighe, Jodie, Nancy K, Alli and the CODEPINK team in the streets of New York City for the largest convening ever to take a stand against police brutality and mass incarceration - #RiseUpOctober, October 24th, 2015.
The call for #RiseUpOctober, put out by activists Cornel West and Carl Dix, encourages three days of powerful and determined resistance to mass incarceration, the systematic persecution of black and brown lives in America and the militarization fueling these systems of power.
In support of this call, CODEPINK is organizing local action teams to support solidarity actions across the country October 22-24, building up to the critical mass convergence on New York City on October 24th. These actions aim to mobilize many more thousands of people, from all walks of life, and engage them actively in this fight.
On Saturday, October 24th - CODEPINK will take to the streets with great pink costumes and visuals, songs to sing and stories to share.
This demonstration will be resistance-based, uncompromising in spirit and, at the same time, pluralistic and diverse, involving hundreds of thousands of people, reaching into every corner of this society and powerfully impacting the whole world.
