Since September 11 2001, the United States and its allies have engaged in a war of terror which has taken the lives of more than 4.5 million people worldwide. This war of terror has never stopped. Today, Israel and the US are committing genocide in Palestine which is inflicting violent terror on the populations of Gaza and the West Bank. The US has also been bombing Yemen, Syria, Lebanon and Iran and continuing its deadly sanctions on Afghanistan and Iran. As Israel, Britain and the United States commit genocide and massacres across the world, they are silencing and prosecuting activists and journalists who dare to speak out against it.
Demand the terror states of the United States and Britain to stop their war of terror! We will deliver the petition simultaneously to Downing Street in London and the White House in D.C.
We, the undersigned, demand the United States and Britain stop their wars of terror across the world and at home.
As Israel, the United States and Britain commit genocide in Palestine, they are silencing and prosecuting activists and journalists who dare to speak out. The British state has been using the draconian, racist Terrorism Act to arrest journalists and activists, who could face up to 14 years in jail. Two journalists, Richard Medhurst and Sarah Wilkinson, have become the first to face such punitive repression and are currently under investigation. In the US, the journalist Danny Shaw was detained and interrogated as his flight landed in Chicago O’Hare. We are terrified by this heightened intimidation of journalists.
Anti-genocide activists, like Palestine Action, have also been arrested and charged under terrorism laws for their brave protests against Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. Palestine Action co-founder Richard Barnard faces multiple charges for giving speeches! Britain is cracking down on support for the Palestinian people while it sends weapons and facilitates Israel’s genocide in Palestine.
As the US-Israeli genocide in Palestine face more and more global resistance by the day, we know this is an attempt to repress our movement for liberation and justice. These terror laws are a way to construct the racist “terror threat” at home as a way to justify bombing and invasions abroad. Our struggles are connected!
We are demanding the United States and Britain drop the charges and investigations against activists and journalists, stop the censorship and repression, and end their campaign of terror across the world.
Sincerely,
