War is Not Green NYC Campaign Coordinator

War is Not Green NYC Campaign Coordinator will work closely with the CODEPINK Co-Director and Co-Founders to support this campaign as well as local groups and action in the NYC area.

Qualifications

  • Unwavering passion for peace, defunding war, and funding the life-giving needs of our communities especially those most affected including Black, Indigenous, Brown, communities of color, poor and low income, the disabled, LGBTQ+
  • Excellent & comprehensive written and verbal communication skills 
  • Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings
  • Written Communication – Writes clearly and informatively; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information 
  • Knowledge in and on Climate justice and intersectional movements for justice
  • Experience in Grassroots and Digital Organizing
  • Tech-savvy

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans
  • Identify, solicit and acquire information about the intersection of climate justice and the peace movement 
  • Build campaigns that serve to cultivate a movement at the intersection of war and climate change to bring the climate change activists closer to the anti-war anti-imperialism camp  
  • Using Ukraine, Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, China and the 800 bases globally to deploy and nurture the campaigns to achieve engagement in both camps and in the media
  • Bring the message of WING to COP and the COP coalition 
  • Create teaching webinars and radio shows to keep the anti-war community we serve educated on the costs of war to the planet
  • Work across the WING coalition to lead campaigns and bring the CODEPINK community into campaigns others are leading
  • Work with the CODEPINK divest campaign to target specific bad actors like Blackrock and the weapons industry
  • Build campaigns that expose climate campaigns missing the elephant in the room of climate change
  • Connect the dots between climate change costs in the US being unmet while their tax dollars are funding wars abroad that increase the violence of the climate catastrophes each year
  • Write articles that educate on climate and war
  • Serve the community inside the CODEPINK movement who want to engage on this issue with monthly calls and tools

Preferred location: NYC

Position type: full time 

Salary $22 to $24 per hour
