Ursula first caught the community organizing bug working on a Get Out the Vote campaign in the lead up to the 2008 election. She is active in campaigns for migrant justice and universal single-payer healthcare. She has travelled on delegations to Colombia with Colombia Support Network and SOA Watch and to El Salvador with the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador. In 2012, she was the Green Party candidate for Congress in NY-24 where she won 8% of the vote. Ursula has a Bachelors degree in International Relations and Latin American Literature from McGill University in Montreal. She loves salsa dancing which she learned while studying abroad in Cuba, bicycles, foraging for local foods and exploring the art of food preservation. Ursula is interested in campaigns and strategies that build grassroots power.
